Biochemist and doctor, officer of the Polish Army

A graduate of the Jan Kanty Junior High School in Poznań. Before 1939 he studied chemistry at the University of Poznań. At the time of the Nazi aggression against Poland, he was in Yugoslavia on student internships. He returned to the country and took part in the battles for Modlin, where he was taken prisoner. Released, he returned to Poznań, but immediately got to France illegally, where he enlisted in Polish military units. After the surrender of France, he got to Great Britain and started working at the University of Edinburgh (Polish Faculty of Medicine). In 1944 he defended his doctorate in biochemistry. In 1947 he returned to Poland, where he taught chemistry at the University of Poznań. He also graduated from the Faculty of Medicine here. He headed the Department of Physiology and Biochemistry of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and the Department of Biochemistry and Analytics of the Medical University of Karol Marcinkowski in Poznań. He also worked at the University of Toronto (two-year scholarship).

Member of the Masovia Academic Corporation. Honorary member of the Magna-Polonia Academic Corporation. In the years 1991-1994 he was the first president of the Association of Philisturs of Poznań Academic Corporations. Tertiary of the Secular Dominican Fraternity in Poznań.
